What flight training actually costs.

Flight training is a real investment. The current site separates the costs so you can see instruction, aircraft, club membership and third-party expenses individually.

Other student costs

Renter's insurance, headset, EFB/iPad, FAA medical exam, ground school, written-test fee, DPE/checkride fee, general supplies and FTSP fees for international students.

Typical ground time

Most flight lessons include about 0.3–0.5 hours of briefing/debriefing billed at the ground rate. Dedicated ground instruction is also available, but disciplined self-study can reduce the amount you need.

How payments are split.

Instruction

Flight and ground instruction are billed directly to me through Stripe. Current payment methods include cash, check, major cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, Cash App Pay, Klarna, Afterpay and ACH.

Aircraft and club

Aircraft rental and club dues are billed separately by Countrywide Flyers through FlightCircle.
